Too Weary

Blessed are the ministers who grow too weary to carry on. There are some who carry on anyway, and they are the ones who collapse. Unfortunately, they seem to constitute the majority! I came to this thought now through working too hard on my book projects the last week or two. The amount of work is unimaginable until one actually does it. Thus, having received two good pledges of endorsements in the last few days, it seemed like a good moment to pause ... and I turned to electronic design instead. OBSERVATION: An unorthodox electronic design I am working on now does better and better. I am using two LEDs to (passively) detect motion. They were doing that at six metres early this morning, and probably a lot more than that by evening (I only checked the oscilloscope trace, and didn't try it out).

POSTSCRIPT: I am experimenting with various detectors which generate around 1 nA (one thousand millionth of an Amp). In practice, this means that a lot of what I am doing is beyond the ability of my instruments -- and I have blown out a string of very sensitive components.
