Affidavits and NVDA
I believe in the power of Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA), and regret having used it too little in ministry in particular. Different people may interpret it differently. I take it as the fastest route to the greatest penalty. One may take Jesus as a classic example. When He dealt with Judas at the Last Supper, he said to him: "What you do, do quickly." One may interpret this as meaning, "Let it happen, and don't delay." It is the opposite of what one would expect: "Don't let it happen, or be sure to delay." Now to the relationship of Affidavits to NVDA: affidavits, or sworn statements, offer others (not the person who makes the affidavit) the fastest route to the greatest penalty, in taking someone down. Often, an affidavit is avoided, precisely to escape this. OBSERVATION: There are several reasons why NVDA is a good strategy, but that would be more than one post. I am trained in NVDA, by IFOR.
