This is a photo of my guardian in the mission, Temeeti the son of Teiaa, in the late 1960's. He would regularly take me with him to the shallow reef (as one sees here) -- but not to the deep reef. Uppermost in my memory is catching octopus in such reefs, which he taught me to do.
OBSERVATION: My father was an itinerant missionary, and perhaps away more often than not.
