Someone died this week, who was a prominent member of one of my Churches. Unfortunately, they did more damage than they did good: one needs to do good, if one is to do damage. It got so bad, I called their previous minister. I said, "What can you tell me about X?" There was silence. He said, "Don't tell me." OBSERVATION: In my ministry, we sought the history of all new members of the Church. But in this and a few other cases, we did not. This person slipped through the cracks. We would have saved ourselves a vast amount of trouble if we had not deviated from procedure.
