In a Congregational Church, a minister is an equal among equals. But often, an attitude creeps in that, in fact, the minister has a special status or authority. It is hierarchical thinking. One of the dangers here is that tensions now creep in. Why did the minister decide that? We don't agree with the minister. How shall we influence the minister? It's us versus the minister. And so on.
OBSERVATION: This kind of thinking often creeps in with members who previously belonged to hierarchical Churches.
