Voice From the Dead

Here’s a conversation I had with a woman whose husband had died. I have encountered a few situations of this kind. I’ll let the reader decide what this was. I went to see a woman at a retirement centre. She claimed that her late husband had seated himself next to her at the table in her flat. He comforted her, and told her that she could look forward to her favourite meal that night. I said, “Are you saying he was there in person?” She said, “No, I didn’t see him. He’s passed away of course. But he spoke to me at the table, clearly.” She said, “That’s exactly what they served for dinner. But how could he look into the future?”
