Voluntary Work

This photo is nearly ten years old. Where things aren't working, I have a habit of taking charge. Here, I walked into a major store. The phones rang and rang, while several staff stood by. I picked one up (pictured). It was no ordinary call. It was HQ calling -- asking why their store had vanished. I told them why it had vanished. That got them hopping -- they thought I was one of their own. I said I was just a customer. OBSERVATION: The staff didn't care that I was on their phone. In South Africa, staff may take little responsibility for a store.

POSTSCRIPT: This photo, incidentally, reveals my (rapid) weight loss following the death of my wife. This post has attracted unusual interest.
