I once estimated that, in urban ministry, one-quarter of the congregation, on a typical Sunday, was visitors. We may have had more visitors in a day than other Churches had in a year. Another minister told me that he would throw his arms in the air and shout "Hallelujah!" if he had just one visitor on a Sunday. OBSERVATION: Visitors typically came from sub-Saharan Africa, or from Europe. It meant that the congregation was more unstable than some -- yet the Church had a far-reaching ministry -- and a reputation, as that is usually required for that many visitors.
