Businessman's Threat

I recently mentioned extortion. Here's an example. A local businessman wanted a gambling license. For this, he needed a letter of consent from the Church. We politely declined. He was furious. He walked into the Church, and shouted: "I'll close down the circle! I'll close down the circle!” Our secretary said: "What ever is the man talking about? He’s speaking in riddles!" But there was a statutory circle, and our Church fell inside it. OBSSERVATION: This could have been an idle threat, spoken in the heat of the moment. I took it seriously, and placed it on record.
