‘Paris’ Editorial

I was called upon last night to help formulate an editorial response to the Paris atrocities, so I was busy till morning. The piece was published at half past midnight GMT, and is already well read. So the finished piece was a synthesis of perspectives, and I think it worked better for that: an insider (in France) and an outsider (me). OBSERVATION: Here, reporting shows that Europe is becoming increasingly remote to Southern Africa. I looked over four Sunday newspapers today. Apart from cuts and jumplines to stories about Paris, none of them covered it before page four.
