I often say to students: your tertiary institution is not there to pander to you. You may need to hack your way through. I have also said that half your degree is for what you had to endure. This “bonus education” becomes useful afterwards, too. You won't grow faint or erratic through the obstacles of life.
OBSERVATION: I myself had a particularly tough experience at Fuller, where everything (so to speak) was geared for students in the USA, and I was ten-thousand miles away, in a different world.
