While I enjoy blogging, there is more to it than that. I have, by now, more than thirty years' experience in ministry, and more than ten years' formal training -- and I have had, by and large, a thriving ministry. It is my hope that, through the things I share here -- things which typically confront one in ministry from day to day -- others may gain experience at least in theory (if that is not a contradiction in terms). Other people's comments on this blog have contributed to that occasionally. I think I would be right in saying that one seldom contemplates the realities of ministry in theological seminary. In fact, part of the reason I started this blog was because a theological seminary was teaching me things I felt would not work. This is not to say that my way has to be the best way -- I hope, too, that this blog would reveal folly as folly. OBSERVATION: There are other reasons besides. An important reason for blogging is daily training in writing -- and this has worked. I also seek to give people a window on the Church in Southern Africa. These posts have been particularly popular.
