Hearing of someone today who obtained a string of A's, I wondered how many A's I obtained with my MA (at Fuller Theological Seminary). I had forgotten. If I had ever counted my A's. I completed with an overall GPA of 3.9. Translated into percent that is 94%. It was nine A's and one B. The B, alas, was for Theology of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. I started the course the day after my wife died. I told my academic mentor that he could have done better than letting me drop 6%. And my (now) wife was disappointed that she hadn't distracted me more than 6%. OBSERVATION: Even by US standards, 3.9 is an uncommon finish. I did well with my MTh, too (at the South African Theological Seminary).
