Wife E. yesterday was puzzled. Facebook suggested that she could connect with someone she had called on her Blackberry. I said it's in the small print: their
Terms of Service and
Data Policy. Facebook tracks, among other things, your phone numbers, computer file names, GPS location, and "we collect information about the people ... you are connected to and how you interact with them". Further, "you consent to having your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States."
OBSERVATION: Now consider that South African law enforcement agencies such as the SAPS use Facebook. It may all be quite harmless, but I hope they checked.
