My hobby for 2012 was measuring the interior noise of Churches -- just for fun (the champion so far: the Gospel Messengers). I don't find it in the news, yet it has become a big issue: Church noise. To complicate matters, Black Churches tend to be (very) noisy, while White Churches tend to be sedate. Here's one example with video: Crime Report (yes, crime through worship). So there is agitation about Black Churches in White areas. But in Black areas, Black Churches are generally not a problem. One sleeps through the noise. Sensitivity to noise is a cultural thing. Is it therefore a racist act to shut down Black Churches in White areas? There are a lot of people who think so, or feel very uncomfortable about it. Not to speak of the issue of freedom of religion. OBSERVATION: I myself have inside experience of the problem, having (warmly) hosted a largely Black associate Church in a largely White area. It is not an easy problem to solve. Mosques are also an issue.
