Condemnatory Messages

My old Church needed to make a major payout to me after nearly 20 years of ministry. Valentine Associates took charge. It started out fairly matter-of-factly, then communications on behalf of the Church became condemnatory. I was not the only one affected. Here is what the Church wrote to someone else at the time -- someone I esteem: They were • preposterous • illogical • objectionable • unethical • unreasonable, and so on. This then gives some idea as to what the Church was calling me -- yet with greater liberality. I feel too embarrassed to disclose it all, however I was • unworthy • sinister • irrational • contradictory • unacceptable • nonsensical, and a good deal more. As to what the Church was actually referring to, in word or in deed, was not clear. Some things were simply false. For example, I had been "witnessed in the Church grounds trespassing". In fact I had been somewhere else, and there were the photos to prove it. I sought to defend my reputation in the face of it all, but the Church was silent. OBSERVATION: It was hard, after more than 44 years' association with the Church, and a combined 21 years of fruitful ministry, in fact the deepest appreciation over many years. And all this on file.
