Invention One: Twin Cursor

I promised to publish some ideas on my blog (see the original post Inventions). Here's the first of them. But first, the terminology, which is in a muddle. Call the thing on the left a cursor, the thing on the right a caret. Now consider that one frequently needs to jump around files: inside files, and from file to file. For this one uses either windows, or navigation. But windows are awkward, and navigation is ... who is able to navigate? I propose two cursors and two carets, controlled by two buttons on the same mouse. While caret one is busy, say, with a table of contents, caret two is busy in the middle of a text. Now click-click, and one can jump from table of contents to text (caret one to caret two) in a split second without deliberately switching windows and without needing navigation. In fact one could jump around the whole computer the same way. OBSERVATION: While it wouldn't entirely supplant windows or navigation, you get the point.
