Since I am launching my new Inventions label, here is a second idea to kick off. Skateboards are boards with small wheels, propelled by the push of a foot. I propose a treadle skateboard. A see-saw action of the deck (the board) propels the skateboard. The challenge here is the very low gear ratio required. I propose that it could be done like this: the see-saw action operates a treadle gear under the deck. The treadle gear in turn moves a rack and pinion gear to turn the wheels (like a handspun helicopter). This would not provide the power to start a skateboard, but would sustain forward motion at speed on a flat surface. OBSERVATION: Think on it. It would work. And with only a few parts.
