Through a small twist of fate, I am published this morning on (click here) A Philosophy of the Environment. A writer dropped out of the schedule, and I was inserted, yesterday. OBSERVATION: In spite of the crucial importance of the environment today, in practice we have little operational guidance for defining policies, strategies, and outcome targets. There is a pressing need for a rational basis for a healthy, balanced relationship with the natural environment. In the words of the theologian and philosopher John MacQuarrie, we need "a broadly-based philosophy". This is a "stab" at it.
