One often thinks of a minister as a local minister -- the minister of a local Church. However, the Church by its very nature has connections the world over, and influence the world over. Many local ministers, unbeknown to anyone, may be doing ministry which reaches far beyond their own congregations. OBSERVATION: Some Churches, in recognition of this fact -- and in recognition of the gifting or calling of their minister -- may deliberately set their minister free to minister in other areas. In one example I know, a Church "tithed" their minister to missions. Missions got 10% of his time, at the expense of the local Church.
