As a minister, I have dealt with a lot of trauma. I've just about seen it all. If I anticipate trauma, it is fine. I brace myself for what I might see. But if it isn't anticipated -- if I stumble upon it -- I react as anyone would do, which is not very well. Here's one example. I was walking to my office one day when I suddenly came up close to an attempted murder. It was somebody I knew. He was neatly dressed, his face flat on the pavement | sidewalk, shuddering violently, and bloodied all over -- and unconscious. I was shaken all day. He survived.
