There was a stunning natural phenomenon on the ocean in Cape Town last week, which I have not seen in my life. People everywhere stood and stared. A rainbow usually stands on one foot, or two. Here, a wide rainbow lay flat on the surface of the ocean. It "drove a path" across the ocean, perhaps a kilometre long. A ripping storm had lifted a thin mist over the water, which was struck by the morning sun. I searched for the same on the Internet, yet the closest I came was a much more modest "rainbow on the waves" (see GGpolyclay's Weblog). OBSERVATION: Unfortunately I was carrying an inferior camera, so I didn't even attempt it.
