I took this photo the night before last, of the moon setting over a
South African township. It was a hand-held shot (of the kind where one
doesn’t breathe). The secret to this photo was a high ISO of 6400. It is
unedited. OBSERVATION: One
sees the usual mast lighting, which is typical of South African
townships. Also the “little boxes” which are houses built under South
Africa’s Reconstruction and Development Programme. These houses are much maligned, not least by residents.
