A Minister's Stipend

When we think about employment (paid work), it seems that one can think of it in three ways, from the employee's point of view:
A. Through payment, we get,
B. Through payment, we give, or
C. Through payment, we are released.
The last of these three is a Church idea. In fact the word "employment" is all but anathema in some Churches. Particularly in Congregational Churches, a minister is not employed, but is released from (secular) employment to follow a calling. This is made possible through a stipend. OBSERVATION: In Congregationalism, this idea is strong. In fact, it is often official policy. What is critical then is whether a minister is called or not. "Employment" is derived from "implicare", to enfold.
