This
is a clip from a film made in 1966, now a "museum piece" in the
Colonial File Database. It shows canoes on the lagoon, in the Gilbert Islands, where my parents served as missionaries. As a boy, I travelled with the cameraman, Dr. Geoffrey Morey. The face of the "man in charge" of the canoe is well known to me. I think, Tabureuea of Beru. "Keeping the outrigger down on the water" was one of my favourite occupations. It was fantastic.
OBSERVATION: This is brilliant camera work, in a very far place. It is likely that I am the boy with the hat. I still have the hat.
