Every few Sundays in ministry, I have asked someone in the congregation to lead the prayers in Church. I don't relinquish all prayers, as I like to set a pattern through my own. I routinely remind those who pray that prayer includes at least four aspects: praise, thanks, confession, and requests. However, here is a fuller representation of what balanced prayers should be. OBSERVATION: I have this from author John Mallison – whom I once met, on a remote Pacific atoll. My father, who was a minister before me, would have added IMPRECATION. The imprecatory prayer in the liturgy was one of his favourites.
