A student leader called me last night. People had "burnt a Church" at a university campus, he said, and he felt he was at risk of arrest -- however, he had had no knowledge of this, nor of any talk which suggested that it might happen. Had it been students? Which students then? Or had somebody sent agents, to subvert the students' cause? I said show me the Church. We drove to the Church. He told me to keep moving, the police were patrolling the area -- which they were. It is St. Mark's Anglican Church. According to Eye Witness News, "protesting students and workers are thought to be behind the torching". OBSERVATION: "thought to be" sounds rather speculative to me. The Church was partially damaged.
