It's a photo that I happen to have to hand -- of the first part of a five-hour Xhosa funeral service. This part is in the home, and this (pictured) is the overflow, in front of the home. There may be one funeral service in or at the home, or as many as three: a women's service inside, a men's service inside, and a combined service outside. A viewing of the body will typically come first. All are admitted to the viewing of the body, including young children. OBSERVATION: My wife is in this photo. So is my wedding suit.
