Cape Town (I should say, the province) was declared a disaster area eight months ago -- not that it did much good. This disaster seems about to become an unmitigated disaster. Anyway, an interesting thing is that, with this disaster, we have an invasion of miniscule ants. We used to have such ants in the mission, in the Pacific. There were millions of them. If one put down a teaspoon for instance, it would soon seem covered in fluff -- which was the ants. I have never seen such ants in Cape Town before. OBSERVATION: My father found that the only thing that stopped the ants was sticky tape -- the sticky side out -- turned around table legs. A sticky tape company in Australia was so pleased with his discovery that they sent him a big box of sticky tape.
