The Road To De Vlugt

Wife E and I spent our honeymoon in the (almost) unheard of hamlet of De Vlugt. We reached the first stream on the road, only to see a sign: “FLOOD DAMAGE.” Flood damage, I thought, referred only to the bridge in front of us, which was plain to see. But once having made it over the bridge, there was contin­uous flood damage for 20km / 12½ mi. It was very hard driving. I was amazed by E's patience.
