I met an 83-year-old woman at a high-class party last week. She said her greatest regret about her education was that they did not teach her about people, and they did not teach her about herself. She said: "As a youth, your emotions are suppressed, managed. As soon as you step out into society, you have to work with your emotions, and you are completely unequipped." OBSERVATION: This is an explicit theme of my metaphysic -- not on a hunch, but on a reasoned basis. In general, the Church seeks to address this, though not sufficiently.
