Faith To Survive

A young Korean student gave his testimony once, in my minister's Bible study group. It contains a valuable truth about what makes for effective Churches. He said: "I was an atheist. I was conscripted into the Korean army. But the army was destroying me. Every Sunday, they sent us to places of worship: Christian, Buddhist, and so on. I chose Christian. There I found [he searched for the word] peace. It enabled me to survive. Because of this, I believed in God." OBSERVATION: This is one of a many testimonies like it, which one encounters particularly in areas of "crisis ministry": "I believe because I found that I cannot survive without faith in a living God."
