Paul Hiebert noted that Western Christianity tends
to have an "excluded middle" of beliefs. There is the creator God on the one hand, and my personal God on the other, but a lot of beliefs have gone missing in the middle. Some years ago, I ran through this quiz (on the right) with my minister’s Bible study group: How Big is God? which covers those middle beliefs. OBSERVATION: Most of my Bible Study group scored 15 out of 16 for this quiz, which I would think is not very Western. There was, however, a debate about "God controls ..." and human accountability. Rather than God controlling things, they said, He foresees them, and responds to them in His power. You may click on the image to enlarge.
