Factual And Spiritual

Church leadership expert James C. Hunter claims that, on average, 10% of congregants will seek to “sabotage” a minister's leadership. It is persecution -- although one does not call it that. I would add, though, that not all 10% will be in a position to have much effect. Strange as it may seem, sabotage is likely, if not inevitable -- among other things, through untruthful or malicious opposition. The same may apply to a Church as a whole. It is sensible, then, to deal with matters of fact, both calmly and methodically. However, one should not imagine that one can deal with such a situation only on the level of fact. This could be counter-productive. One needs to take on deeper spiritual issues. For that, one needs spiritual discernment, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
