In The Mission

This is a particularly well preserved photo from 1966. You may click on it to enlarge. It is my sister Ann, playing in the sand on the ocean side of the tiny (6.8 square miles) Beru atoll. At that time, sand was to us what snow might be to others. OBSERVATION: It was a great privilege for us, among all the very many children of the British Isles, to be the only ones who saw this world at this time. This was due in turn to our parents, who took a call which no one else wanted or accepted.
