In one of my ministries, our Church subsidised Bibles in various languages. We shifted a great many Bibles that way -- and in many cases, we gave them away free. Then we noticed that most of the children in Church didn't have a Bible (we also had children in Youth -- we supplied them later). I searched for a suitable Bible, and found the One Year Children's Bible by Tyndale House Publishers. This is a children's translation rather than a storytelling. But which children should receive one? We decided, all -- and we would hand them out one Sunday. However, when that Sunday came, there were children in Church we didn't know. They were lucky children, because they received a Bible, too. OBSERVATION: It was an expensive hand-out, but
one we thought to be money very well invested.
