This week, a fellow alumnus of Fuller put up an article on Facebook from ChurchLeaders.com, and asked for comment. I said first, the name of the website. The word "Leader" is not (really) a concept in the New Testament. For example, it appears only twice in the KJV, and then it is only used negatively. Or try the very literal LITV (the KJV is dated). There it appears seven times, but is mostly used negatively. Much the same goes for synonyms. OBSERVATION: I need hardly repeat the frequent call of the Church for servants not leaders. But there is something more important than that. The whole congregation are leaders of the Church. It is not "leaders". In my Church tradition, there are no leaders outside the congregation as the congregation as a whole.
