Social Contribution

In my experience, there is no need for a special social emphasis in the Church. If a Church is evangelistic in its emphasis, its social engagement will be strong. One need not worry about that. A treasurer once asked me to estimate the total value of our Church’s social contribution in the city -- which was not in the budget, but over and above the budget. It amounted to nearly one-fifth of annual budget, and included counselling, alms, the use of our premises, and various things besides. OBSERVATION: This does not include what congregants did in their personal capacity, with nearly one-third making some regular social contribution. There are Churches which do more, but this means "quite busy".
