I have attended several theological seminaries. At one (in Africa),
certain books were forbidden. At another (Europe), they had a powerful "line",
yet all books were allowed. At another (the USA), they generally had no line -- professors did not commit to one. I liked the European approach. However, the African approach served as a good foundation, and the US approach was strong on trends. OBSERVATION: One may find much the same in Churches. Here, too, I prefer the European approach: have a powerful "line", yet allow room for exploration.
