Here's a post that I didn't post, a while back. I was on the plateau where wife E grew up, when we were hit by a heat wave. The photo shows a packet of potato chips (crisps) ready to explode in the heat. OBSERVATION: There was no relief, anywhere. Walls were hot to the touch. Every item of furniture was hot. The wind was hot. The shade was hot. Then the water was cut off. When it came back on again -- fed through a big black PVC pipe on the ground -- it was too hot to touch.
