Information Not One's Own

I received a call yesterday from RCS Loans. I said that I didn't know that name. "Where did you get my details?" I asked. By this I meant my name and telephone number. The woman on the phone must have misunderstood. She said: "I have your inflows and outflows in front of me, Sir, on a screen." I mentioned this to someone else. He said that when his account balance dipped, companies contacted him offering him loans. OBSERVATION: This would mean that, in South Africa, our financial information is "out there", in the hands of unknown companies.
