Low Hope (Not)

A statement stayed with me, by two leadership authors, when I was doing postgraduate studies in leadership. Many Church leaders, they wrote, function "out of low expectation and hope". Looking back on my ministries from the start until today, year after year there was good reason to function out of low expectation and hope -- yet I did not -- and do not. It was hope in God, and the hopes were fulfilled, many times. It was hope against hope. My late wife Mirjam would tell the Church: "When our prayers are answered, let's not forget to give thanks." OBSERVATION: In fact, low hope annoys me.
