Safety Measures

Last year, in a township, I witnessed a foreign shop owner receiving a death threat (elsewhere on this blog). I visited his shop again last month. He had changed things around. He had created a heavily protected room off the back of his shop, for himself, and had put a Black frontman at the service window. Unusually, the frontman didn't speak English or Afrikaans. He had to call the shop owner to make sense of me. The photo shows a typical spaza shop inside.
