There is the danger that one may become “scattered” in ministry. One hears it all the time -- particularly after a minister has been on leave. One may scatter one's energies like confetti. The hazard then is that public ministry (to the congregation as a whole) becomes just a part of the “scattering”, while it should have a steady focus. That applies not only to the Sunday worship. It means also that one will give to members a sense of cohesion. One owes it to them to make them feel, too, that there is not just a “scatteredness” about the Church.
