Disabled Boy

I visited a couple in the country last week, whose young boy is seriously disabled. He had been perfectly fine, they said, until he fell ill with meningitis. As soon as they realised it was serious, they took him to a big town 100km (60mi) distant, but it was only to save his life -- he was paralysed on one side from head to foot. I asked if I could see the boy. He was lying on a bed. His father said: "There's a pastor here to see you." He jumped up and stood on one leg, and he beamed. He couldn't speak. But it was clear to me from that brief encounter that this boy was a bright youngster. His father said: "He brings us a lot of joy."
