Pacific Gesture

Here is a memory of the past of a different kind (see the previous post). This week I was editing an article (to be published in the morning) which proposes that our cultures are full of forgotten memories. We act in ways where we are oblivious to the origins of our behaviour. I shared a personal example with the author. In private conversation, I still say "Yes" with my eyebrows, the way that Pacific islanders do. That originates in my childhood. OBSERVATION: But in public discussion, I use Western gestures for "Yes".
