Simple Inventions (Not)

It's amazing how hard it is to invent some of the simplest things. I am working on a chemical invention at the moment, trying to solve a sequence of about seven problems. Someone solved two out of seven and received an international prize. I have now solved five out of seven. In my mind's eye, I have solved them all. OBSERVATION: It reminds me of my electronic Jumping Spider, to which I sold the copyright in January 2007. I started by putting a magnet into a plastic spider, and tried to make it jump. This revealed a sequence of problems which needed months to solve. The last step -- untethering it from a power source -- I couldn't do. The engineering was beyond me. The Chinese tried to solve it, but in my mind failed. The spider lost its jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQA8g7qJWGE
