In 2016, the auditor of my old city Church was found to be bogus. The Church diaconate then wrote to the regulator: "The gravity of
the matter was explained to us ... We sincerely apologise for this
wrongdoing." This was signed by the treasurer, followed by five diaconate signatures. The regulator duly handed the file to the police -- and sent me a copy -- but the police said that the file had been tampered with. I checked up on just one thing. Were the signatures genuine, which confessed to wrongdoing? A few days ago, in terms of the Information Act, the regulator refused to respond. OBSERVATION: This is quite a serious refusal. It isn't a problem of secrecy -- they already sent me the file.
