In my early ministry, I handed out copies of my sermons. Last week I received a message: "Hi Thomas, I still feed myself spiritually on your sermons dating back to the nineties. I have kept them all these years." Perhaps 10% of the congregation took copies of my sermons on a Sunday. In later years, I handed out sermon outlines instead, to the whole congregation -- with something upbuilding printed on the flipside. One member (for herself) put pressed flowers on them and laminated them. OBSERVATION: I think both the sermon copies and the outlines were in the interests of ministry to members. I find them encouraging myself.
