Think twice before you agree to a police 101 Service Delivery Complaint. Elsewhere on this blog, I said that I was tired of being summoned by a distant court as a state witness, only to be sent home. But I received reports (all on record) that evidence had been removed from a docket, not once but twice. This accounted for much of the trouble. So the police contacted me to say that they had registered a 101 Service Delivery Complaint in my name. I said no, I didn't ask for one. They insisted. They said they had a case number. The trouble is, the moment you open a 101 Service Delivery Complaint, you sign away the right to hold an officer accountable for offences. In this case, evidence was removed in a criminal case. I have made application to see what is now in the docket.
